In a welcome move for first home buyers, the First Home Owners Grant boost has been extended beyond its initial June 30 deadline in the 2009 Federal Budget, announced last night.
The boost to the grant will continue in full until October 1, giving first home buyers $14,000 to purchase existing properties and $21,000 to purchase newly constructed properties.
Between October 1 and December 31, the boost to the grant will be halved, to $10,500 for the purchase of existing dwellings and $14,000 for newly constructed dwellings.
